We are on the hunt for a full-time, senior content developer to create original content in different formats and adhere to SEO best practices. After all, we want people to read what has been written.

We promise you won't be bored as you develop and orchestrate content strategy for both our clients and for the agency. What does this mean? You'll research, plan, develop, execute, edit, and proof a wide variety of content for our B2B clients and for Marsden. You'll also cultivate and oversee a cadre of freelance writers, providing direction, encouragement, and project management, to ensure deadlines are met and quality is high.

What kinds of content you might ask? Well, about any format that you can think of and some that you might not have tried yet. Or surprise us with some we haven’t thought of either!

POSITION LOCATION: Atlanta, GA

SKILL LEVEL: 3-5 years of experience in content creation and marketing (corporate or agency)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Client Support

  • Audit content for freshness, ability to connect with audiences, usefulness, and determine gaps. From that, develop and present a keyword rich content calendar that drives leads and enhances thought leadership
  • Research, write, edit, and proof the content needed to effectively execute on client strategy
  • Reuse existing content in creative ways to maximize content creation budgets
  • Recruit, onboard, coach and manage freelance writers to meet client needs
  • Be comfortable and confident leading content strategy sessions
  • Ensure deadlines are met and content is flowing through the process with a sense of urgency and with an attention to detail
  • Think in visuals and in words. Ability to design is a plus
  • Understanding business objectives and solutions and how to position them is a must

Agency Support

  • Work with agency’s marketing manager to set agency content strategy and actively manage company’s blog, ensuring internal employees submit blogs on time
  • Develop content for the agency’s demand generation goals such as updating webpage copy, developing case studies, and helping to generate long-form/interactive content as needed
  • Manage calendar and submissions for industry awards
  • Source speaking engagements on behalf of the agency

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3+ years creating or directing content for B2B organizations, either directly or with an agency
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, PR, or another related field from a respected four-year institution
  • A passionate writer who is comfortable with a variety of writing styles; superior research, copywriting, and editing skills
  • Positive, effective communicator with colleagues and clients
  • Organized, structured, and detailed in your processes and thinking
  • A stickler for spelling, grammar, and punctuation
  • Must be able to herd kittens. Fun, fluffy and cute but still need direction to meet goals
  • Need to take constructive instruction with a smile but also know when to push back to make the content better
  • The ability to think creatively and execute tactically, must be able to think beyond the assignment to draw new insights and connections
  • Tech-savvy and proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects at any time
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Independent thinker who also is a team player
  • Voracious learner who is always up for a new challenge

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Design experience is a plus (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator)
  • Understanding of digital content marketing best practices, marketing automation platforms, and SEO tools
  • Experience working with SEO tools (SEMRush)
